Thinking about a name that meant controversy. Then it hit me, lance & shield, or spear and shield?
A lance is what knights carry when jousting, it’s very long;
A spear is a pole or stick with a sharpened end, or added pointed head, it’s shorter than a lance and is more flexible.
Or:
Lance is a seven time winner of the tour de france, where as Spear is a singer who can’t seem to remember her underwear
